Protective Technologies is a threats and hazards design and engineering firm that specializes in anti-terrorism/force protection (AT/FP) as well as seismic, industrial accidents, and other man-made and natural hazards for new build and retrofit projects that have this requirement.  Our expertise in structural and blast design and engineering, as well as our knowledge of Municipal, Federal and Military code requirements for such projects, makes us an invaluable addition to any project team, whether new build or retrofit.  Protective Technologies is also strongly committed to testing new and innovative systems, including components of our Blast Resistant Modules, improving our clients' bottom lines and creating safer, more aesthetically pleasing environments for building inhabitants.

PTG is partnered with the University of California, San Diego and the Jacob School of Engineering.  This resource is one-of-a-kind and allows us to test our unique systems for use in new and retrofit construction and provide our clients with thorough testing results.  Our Blast Resistant Modules (BRMs) are a good example of our commitment to testing for commercial application.  You can read more about our BRMs on our  BLAST RESISTANT MODULESpage.

design & Engineering

Our comprehensive approach to protective design and engineering starts at the perimeter and incorporates the building's envelope to include the design of major structural elements and other elements such as doors and windows.   With this comprehensive approach the design and engineering plan addresses  all aspects of threat assessment, design and construction. After assessing your needs, we can design, test and validate  all elements, deliver economic advantages and support the complete solution.
Vulnerability, threat assessment and structural analysis should be the first step to determining a hazard mitigation solution along with gaining a clear understanding of any codes or specs that must be met.  Including PTG from the beginning of a project that has an AT/FP or other hazards mitigation requirements can help control cost overruns by helping our clients understand the code requirements of the hazard mitigation portion of their project, assessing their situation correctly and providing a effective and efficient solution the first time.
